f32 fuel crossover

Post by MTP »

I have a 1985 F32 with 270 hp crusaders, twin forward tanks 49 gal and twin aft tanks 60 gal, it seems as though the fuel is only being drawn from the port side when the fuel crossover valve is in the open position is the a normal issue and should I simply close the valve to only allow port tanks to feed port engine and starboard tanks feed starboard engine.

In my opinion, the crossover should be closed to isolate the engines to thier respective tanks.

If you have a genny, it would explain the extra draw from one tank.

With the crossover open, the fuel will come through the path of least resistance. Check to ensure there are no kinks/restrictions in the lines. A vacuum test will tell you if you have more resistance on one side than the other.

Do both engines run fine under high load with the crossover closed?

Keep the crossover switch turned off - run each engine off of its own tank (if you have one bad tank of gas, it only kills one engine, not both). Only use the crossover switch if you run out on one side.
