6.5 Onan Genset Question

Post by Tuck »

just got my genset fixedededed (carb rebuild), and am planning on using the crap out of it this weekend.

i've used it a few times before, but generally just to nuke something etc. this weekend, and from now on actually, i plan on running it each time i go out, per the advice of my mechanic. anyhoo, the question is this: how much petrol will a onan 6.5 use with sustained useage? (running ac, with other stuff as needed)

thanks in advance.

uses about 3/4 to a gallon an hour depending on the load. more load a bit more gas etc. good to have some kind of load when you run it especailly if you dont use it very much

I am not certain if my tank is 40 or 50 gallons but I can run mine for over 14 hours straight with two Cruise Air compressors, the fridge, the occational microwave, or blender and the TV's without issue. Could of course run it longer if I didn't run both A/C units.
