11 M International sedan windshield leak

Post by Sea Play'n »

Does anyone know how the rubber seal locks into the aluminum windshield frames on an 11 M International sedan?
I think I have a leak coming from the curved plastic sections of the windshield, and need to rebed both of them in butyl tape. The rubber trim appears to be joined in the corners and it won't budge with only gentle pressure. I am afraid of doing damage and then not being able to get replacement rubber.
Thanks, Hugh

On my 1989 10.8 meter International I had a small leak on the front port window. I was able to just pull the rubber molding out. Mine did come out rather easy so I guess is was time to reset them. I only pulled the one side of the window gasket out that appeared to be leaking... Didn't want to open that can of worms. I simply filled with a good silicone and was able to rebed the rubber just by pressing back into the grooves. Has not leaked since!
