auto pilot on 1984 10 meter international
Im thinking of adding a belmar autopilot to my 10 meter international. I have only had the boat for one year. Im new to this forum and wondering if anyone has any experience with adding an autopilot to this boat or one similar.

The 10 Meter uses the Hynautic system. What makes it unique is that it is a three line system with a feature tha keeps air pressurized in the hydraulic supply tank.
I installed a Raymarine autopilot unit in 2004.
In 2006 the helm steering unit began to leak. Based on it's age and the cost of rebuilding, I chose to replace the helm and the piston ram units with new.

I installed an autpilot in my 1980 f 30 flybridge a Robertson AP
2500. Robertson sold out to Simarad. They know have some new units but they repaired mine when it quit after 13 seasons of trouble free operation. I installed it myself in a day and used there tech hotline at the time I launched it to help with the adjustments. The directions that came with the unit were straight forward. I would suggest you talk to them or another manufacturer and tell them what you have before you do this to see what kind of tech support you can get from them and what one of there units will work best for you. Some wouldnt give you the time of day in my experience. I make a living with my boat and I have yet to see another autpilot work as good or as long as the one I have high speed, trolling, rough seas, beam seas, following seas or head on. I know when this one finally dies it Will be a Simarad that replaces it. It is not the cheapest but it works. In an autopilot you get what you pay for.
