Thanks for the photo and it sure looks like a nice day for Nov 21st. I boated 43 years ago on the Ohio River out of Gallipolis, OH. What part of the river are you on?

well, pretty close, we dock at Schooners in Huntington, which is very nice. the pic was taken about 5 mi up toward you, but before you get to the 'power lines' if you know where they are around Huntington. I've been to Gallipolis once, altough not with this boat.

I am not there any more. We keep our boat on Lake Michigan but that was my first experience with boating over 40 years ago out of Gallipolis. My best friend's father had a wooden Trojan and that's when I fell in love with them. We went there every weekend during the summer and fished and skied off of the boat. We would pull it up on shore on the West Virginia side and stay there all night. Great memories! We were there a few years before the Silver Bridge fell. I remember seeing it in the water the summer following that tragedy.

I wasn't living in Huntington when the bridge fell, but I HEARD about it. BTW do you think Mouth Man had anything to do with it!! LOL

I guess I am not familiar with Mouth Man so you will need to explain that one. We took the boat all the way to Cincinnati one summer to Coney Island when it was still there. It took us a week for the trip and we would take turns skiing between locks while travelling down the river. We stayed at various marinas along the way.

The operative word there is "from". It has been nearly fifty years since I first boated there as a very young teenager at the age of 13. We boated there every summer all summer long and the last boating we did there was when I was 20 and I am now 62. I am sure a lot of changes have taken place and I have not been back there since leaving.
