Icom m302 or m402 U-Brackets?

Post by rossjo »

The plastic "U-bracket" on my Icom m302 radio is broken now (final snap yesterday).

Anyone have a spare or know where to get one?

I will look and see what our boat came with.
If I have one I am sure we can work something out.

Allen - Born at night? huh?

yes - they are VERY proud of their flimsy, plastic bracket. AN IC-M502 lists for 495, and the bracket is worth about $0.50 and breaks. Then they try to make money on the replacement.

I lost a knob once, and called and the gal just sent me one.

Oh well - they won't even email back now. I get tired of having to make stuff to replace manufacturer's cheap stuff.

Unfortunately that seems to be the trend now a days. Cheap sh&%*y parts to install with or operate with. Then they want ten times what replacement parts are worth. Just go to HD get a peice of flat stock aluminum and make your own. Be cheaper and last longer!! Not trying to be my normal smart a#$ self but its the hard core reality!

Ross...... what is the width of your unit??? This maybe a stupid question, but shouldn't most brackets work? I don't think there's a wide difference in the little (ridges?) that lock the unit in place. I've been wrong 2-6 times in my life
The reason I'm asking is I know I have a couple metal ones in my storage unit and they are yours if right size. How much of a hurry are ya in??

Ron,

Its 5-3/8" wide, and must sit out at least 1-1/4" ...

I had some metal brackets, but used them on the 26 ...
