MHO's----Mental Health Outings

Post by foofer b »

I was gonna call the topic mental health "cruises", but that implies a certain length to the outing.

Have any of you ever just taken off for a day or an overnight or a weekend by yourself and cruised, or anchored or fished alone or with just you and the dog? I used to go alone in my skiff fishing/riding for many an outing. I have not had an MHO in the Trojan since November of '09, in Destin Fl, where the dog and I cruised/fished/anchored/docked for three days and nights.

If you have not, explain to your wife, significant other/better two thirds/commandant, that Dr. Foofer has diagnosed you with an acute case of
lackaboatititus, and has proscribed and strict regimen of solo cruising, for at least three days, whether one day at a time or consecutively!!! Also prescribed is a book, a bottle, and a bbq.

Here for your perusal is some pics from my last MHO trip!!

PS. Thursday is looking good for a two day MHO cruise.

Hey, my wife is a gourmet defroster too, but sometimes it's nice to get away from everything and everybody.

Interesting that this originally posted up on Valentines Day. Did Cupid pass you all by yesterday? What happened to red Roses, Wine and snuggles?

That being said, a day away off alone can regenerate the batteries once in a while.

I the fall, when the Stripers are running, I regularly go out for the day by myself. I'm mostly retired and do 90% of my boating during the week when the hordes are working.........Haven't over nighted by myself, I find company most ideal for overnighters....

I fish a lot alone during the week with my dog, Captain Poppy, on the 14 McKee. Just not that many friends who don't work.

I have gone offshore by myself, but don't recommend that ...

I have done a couple days in my 18 SeaPro as well - run down to a friend's island and fish/hunt for a few days, then home.
