Question - '75 Tri-Cabin Blowers

Guys,

My boat is 300 miles away and wrapped up, thought I would ask. Anyone know the size of the blower motors for the engine compartmetns? Mine are very old and noisy. I was going to order some new ones.

Thought you all might know off the cuff. I thought there were 3" blowers?

Thanks... If not, i will just check it in a few weeks. Just hoping to get my shopping done early.

Thanks again for the wisdom on the windows. My tri is a 73 built in Niagara on the lake by Shepherd There are three blowers in mine, 2 in the aft cabin with the engines one in the main cabin for the genset & fuel tanks I am going out to work on her today will check & advise

If yours are the same or similar to what I have on my F32, ITT Jabsco make a series that *look* like the same blower but don't know actual sizes or if bolt pattern lines up. http://www.ittflowcontrol.com/marine-an ... ntilation/ One of mine has a 4" intake flange, the other is 3" I think.

When one of mine burned out I ended up replacing it with an in-line blower (like the Rule ones shown in that link). 4" blower hose goes from the bilge to the Rule blower, duct taped (sorry - the Marina did it and space is too tight to get proper hose in there) the Rule to the original Blower intake flange. Then just swapped the wires from the original blower to the Rule (cut / connect / heatshrink). A lot more 'economical' solution than replacing with the fancy units.

To improve efficiency, last winter I also cracked open the 'dead' original blower and removed the fan component, so now there is unimpeded airflow from the Rule unit overboard, just using the old blower housing like a piece of piping.
