I saw this at the boat show here in Toronto, and was impressed with the look.
Has anyone any experience with this product?
I haven't spoken to anyone that installed it, but am open to comments.
I am thinking seriously about doing my boat exactly the same as pictured
I'm old school... I like the real thing rather than artificial looking replacements.
If you like it then that is all that matters.... it should last based on it's construction.

I agree..I would love the real thing..imagine real teak decking.. but costs would be more than the boat is worth
alexander38 wrote:The biggest ?itch I've heard is it gets real hot in the sun. And screw heads show after awhile.
It's not screwed down, it is glued down directly to the deck.

oops
my bad..I misunderstood your comment.
Just a rough estimate, they will come to the dock, take measurements, make templates and install for around $2000

I don`t have any personal experience with it but have also heard it gets really, really hot in the sun. I have also heard that it stains easily. Simply stuff like suntan lotion is apparently enough to make the surface blotchy after a while. I would ask the manufacturer about the its`ability to resist stains. Maybe they`ve improved the material or have come up with a coating to prevent staining. I would also find out if the product can be refinished 5 or 10 years down the road; maybe a light sanding or chemical wash.

Will the nuteak flex with your decks without cracking or coming loose? How much weight will it add to the boat? Is it (easily) removed, should there be problems down the road. And how will you get the adhesive off the deck?
I would ask a lot of questions. Also see if they have any references- people who have used it-that you could talk to.

Beware of PlasTeak. I ordered some PlasTeak Lumber (2 x 3/4 I believe) and the shipped it ROLLED up. I had a hell of a time trying to get it flat again so I could work with it. When I called, the people there (including the owner) were rude and not helpful (or even considerate).
