refinishing railings, ladder to helm

Have any of you refiished your exterior wood work, if so what did you use?

Yes, Cetol with 5 coats. It holds up really well and you can optionally top with the high gloss if you like that look.
Disposable foam pads are the best /easiest way to apply.

Here are some examples of potential results. Bad idea to use Gloss on the steps the bridge ladder - gloss tends to get slippery when it is wet.

Bob, it appears the wood work has never been "treated" it is gray and grainy. A good sanding?

exactly how mine looked. A palm sander with 120 will get it in nice shape before application.

I did the following,
sand with 150, bleach and brighten with Teka or west marine two part cleaner brightener, (with port supply the westmarine brand is about 8.00 for the two part kit in quarts)
sand with 220
then 8 coats of Z - Spar polyurethane sanding with 220 between coat and a few coats every three or four months

cetol natural teak sure worked great for me around the gunnels. Real easy, just apply several coats. Upkeep is great too. Add a coat once a season. Put some high gloss over the cetol natural teak on the bow pulpit it looks great too. Highly recommend cetol natural teak
