spent some time in her

not sure how the threads work here will be asking tons of questions and not sure if I keep them on same thread or not?
I was down below in the bowels of the beast as there is no motor to get in my way. Ive decided to start there cleaning the thirty plus years of dirt, grime out of her and get a solid paint job down there ,just so my marine mechanic has a warm cozy feeling when engine drop time comes.
how do you post pics on this forum? would like to input as I go and get everyones ideas , info on taking next steps. kinda like that blog cabin I see on hgtv :P I would send some shots of the inside cabin at present but fear the bulk of you would tell me to light a match and roast some marshmellows around her as she burned. so soon as I get an idea on posting the pics I'll get some in here.

You need to get an account at a site like Photobucket to upload and store your photos to. Once they are there, you post the link to the photo here. PhotoBucket is a free service and there are several others also.

For a second I thought this post might not be about boats.....
I needed a less expensive hobby, so I bought a boat!

yeah , after hitting submit the title I kinda realized. As for tonights chores I was disgusted with the filth on the boat I dont think its been cleaned in years. I washed her" the boat" down good and was able to see the gelcoat after hours of scrubbing. I test spotted some areas with 3m slight oxidation remover and it was all coming back rather good. I mentioned bottom paint and think after removing the grime the top and and along the sides where you walk from bow to stern seems to have been painted.
it cleaned up nicely. I had to get some sorta shine outa it before I go in the engine room and start cleaning there. I do have questions though and if anyone would care to chime in then thanks in advance.

1. is there a switch/lever that you engage to utilize either the main wheel or the flybridge wheel , or do these both always work at all times?

2.what is that clay like stuff around the ext. windows on the bow mine is in rough shape and wondering the best way to asure watertight windows prior to doing any inside finish work

posting pics, click "img" above your post, copy and paste the "direct link" in your "photobucket" account to your post here, click "img" again, click "preview" to check it before submitting. You may have to space your "img" and the "url" to get it where you want but practice makes perfect. You can do a search for just about any question you may have and if you don't find your answer, ask and ye shall receive. This is the place for all Trojan boat lovers. Welcome aboard.

When you "mouse over" one of your photos on PhotoBucket it will present you with five options and the last one in the list is "IMG Code". If you just click on that it will automatically copy it to your clipboard and then all you have to do is paste it in the body of your post here on the forum - it does all of the "IMG" code for you and you don't have to fool around with figuring it out.

Its perfect for lazy people like me who don't understand all that code stuff.
