I didn't have a problem with my crusaders. I loosened the clamps and took a screwdriver and GENTLY worked it between the hose and elbow to start breaking it loose then grabbed the hose and moved it around until it came off. The merc in my chris craft was even easier to do.

Allen is correct , and squirting a little WD 40 by the screw driver will help too ,as far as a chain saw your the one that keeps bringing it up.

agree, exhaust hoses were the hardest part of the job. I finally gave up and cut them off and replaced them with new which wasn't the worst idea.

I would do this part 1st in case you run into the same situation.

Bob

P.S. - if you wind up replacing, I have Shields 3 1/8" with wire (brand new)

If you have a heat gun, you can remove exhaust hose clamps, and heat up hoses evenly and then apply some lubricant or dishwashing soap while prying around connection. Figure a couple of beers per hose...

No offense, but I wouldn't put GLM risers on my engines...

Osco, Barr or Mercruiser ($) Had great luck with Osco over the years.

Bottom line manifolds and risers,
their castings and fit are subject to early failure and corrosion.
