John, I know you've checked with Beacon. Have you done a search on the web?

Try contacting this guy, may have something lying around:

You may also want to contact all the marinas close to you and ask if they have any junker boats in thier yard that you could salvage parts from. I've done that and been very happy with the results.

Yup
give him a call, (609)713-4602 number is on the website as well
I have always been able to get hold of him by phone as he carries the cellphone with him always.
I think he may even be out on a job if I remember another post a few days ago.

Thanks John, It's close and would work but it's missing the other half of the latch..........a friend just has the opening with a length of chain across, might go that route.......John

The part looks like, if you really, really, really wanted one, it could be cast by a foundry and finished by you. Might not be as expensive as one might think.

Make a sand mold and pour in melted aluminum, then finish.

Obviously be careful with hot metals.

John,

If you struck out at Jim's in Manteca; there is a yard with a ton of boat parts off Thornton rd. near Walnut Grove. Take I-5 North to Thorton Rd off ramp, go West (under the freeway) pass Wimpys and head into Walnut Grove. Once you come into town the yard is on the right; they have many wood boats and a ton of railing, latches and all kinds of hardware for boats of all ages.

Good luck.
