The more I look at it the more I like it. It has all the low maintenence features I love about my F-36 (solid hull, easy access everywhere, etc). I wish I could find one beat to hell and cheap since I'll end-up re-doing everything anyway.

Here's a way for you to easily kill two birds with one stone and you're halfway there to a repower.
Thiss configuration allows much more height to the deck, the cummins would most definately fit and just about anything elase as well.
My guess is that it could be had more reasonably than imagined!

That boat is going the wrong direction! I'm an American damn it....need bigger, more expensive and more wasteful!!
You do a couple boats like you want them and realize how much it really costs to renovate a boat. If I paid 20k for that 33', it would take $20k in pumps, wiring, cables, new interior, etc etc before it was ready for repower. So, I'd have more money in it than I have in my boat now for a much smaller boat!
I'm gonna sell my boat and move-up. We wanna cruise a bit (Bahamas, etc) and those gas engines aren't going to cut it...have had too many maintenence hassles. The more I think about it, why should I suffer through a repower when my boat with gas engines is perfect for a weekender. Besides...don't wanna scratch all that teak flooring and everything. Seems better to pray for someone to buy it from me for a cheap but decent price and steal one of the diesel boats littering the market.
I would have gotten in the mid-$60s for my boat a few years ago...now I'd take mid-$50s knowing I can buy a big, diesel boat for $80k.
