Chrysler 318 Logo Plates

Post by larryeddington »

Chrysler 318 exhaust manifolds logo pieces. Does anyone have the aluminum Chrysler placard from the orginal exhaust manifolds. As I am rehabing this f28 trying to make all orginal colors ets. For instance the valve covers are crinkle black as mine original came. I have 3 of the Chrysler placards and need one more. The are held on by some kind of rubber glue and come off with a little careful coaxing?

Larry you could probably have someone make a mold from one of your original plates and then have as many as you want casted from the mold. Since its such a small piece I am fairly certain it wouldn't cost much. You'd have some painting and finishing to do on the finished castings, but still not a huge amount of work or hassle. Aluminum would cost more than white metal or the like, but would hold up a lot longer to vibration and/or heat.

BTW, I too am a factory purist on colors and trim. Always have been. Probably gonna break Nancys heart when I strip off the green striping and black bottom paint so I can go back to factory colors. Be on the lookout for the nice new green canvas and bimini with boot that I'll be selling. Someone is gonna get a helluva deal on some 2 yr old custom made canvas for their F series.

Well it is not a casting, it is a piece of aluminum bent 90 degree around the exhaust manifold. The graphics I can do, and I suppose the piece itself. Thanks just checking to see if if I could find one to ease my labor.

Those logo pieces changed over the years. I guess I was unsure of which ones you had. I don't think I am familiar with the 90 degree bend variety. Just to satisfy my curiosity, do you have a pic?
