1985 10 Meter Flybridge abandoned

My old gal had been abandoned since 09. I can buy her for a song not even a dance. However engines not winterized since last year boat is on Smithville Lake North of Kansas City. We had a wicked winter. Head has overflowed into cabin and the carpet just outside of head is GREEN was off white when I replaced it in 03. Cabin is trashed cover off the bridge.. Anyway what I am getting at does anyone know of any company's that will take one and just rebuild it? I don't have the expertise to do the things that will need to be done to my old gal Dockknocker.

I bought the boat in 2000 did over 35K restore and sold her in 05 and I get a call from the local Sheriff wanting to know if I want her back in it's present shape... TRASHED.

Anyone know of anyone who can restore her???

If you have to pay to have it done will it be worth it ? Sounds like a complete restore and repower .

Hopefully some one here may know someone

You can find someone to do it all......however, make sure it is someone recommended form a reliable source. their are many to take your $$, few to do a good job. If it is as Paul suggests, re-power and refit you will spend many 1000's of $$.....re-power alone will be 10-15K or even more. You might be better off finding what you want in good condition and having a GOOD survey prior to buying..................John[/i]

it depends on resources in your area, such as refit yards and other factors. now, the bottom line is what is the nostalgia factor? if you have a gut feeling that she can be brought back to life, then i would seriously think about it. if not, believe it or not, and i know it is gut wrenching, she might actually be worth more parting her out. i know. it sucks. but, perhaps she could keep other internationals living by having her parts live on another vessel or vessels.

People from this area are just not familiar with Trojan.
I picked the boat up from the Mississippi in St Charles the boat I think did the great loop and I think at one point was abandon the guy I bought it from had very little in her,

Pasco turned me on to the Trojan line with his write up of the 10.8 meter. Owning a Bayliner I wanted to step up a notch or 2. I took her to Lake Ozark and had allot of work on her. Spent almost every weekend in the bilge keeping her running. I had her in GREAT shape when I sold her.

Now looking at my old friend was a very very sad sight.

What is even more sad is the fact in the shape she is in today I don't think after spending 35K the first go around that 35K will even scratch the surface this time.

I have no way of getting her out of the lake without major expense crain and such. By the time I purchase and moved her even parting out would not create enough value to break even.

If anyone is interested or knows someone who might I have some pictures. I would LOVE to see her restored but I can't do it a second time.

Its nowhere near the worst I have ever seen. I was actually surprised she looks so good based on your original description. Does look as if the water came up a few inches inside her. Were the floors all mush?

That boat is not ready for a landfill,not even close.I understand the market is very bad, but can be saved from the heap. You should find sombody to love her and let them have it for the song. A member of this site may be interested in that kind of a deal and may also be able to do the work. DO NOT let her die.

I did not notice any soft spots but this water looked as if it came from the head. The shower floor was covered in mud. They could have left the window open. But the head had overflowed at some point. The bilge is caked in mud as well. Funny thing about all this I did not notice any horriable smell so who knows how long the water was in the boat.
This was in excellent shape when I sold it.

I am not interested in this project , I already have a 36 ft Tri Cabin, but you should post up what you can take her back for . If we knew what the take back price is ,and it was cheap enough it could be shipped almost anywhere . Many people on this forum have the ability to bring her back. If the price was right the shipping would not seem too expensive. I can nevver understand that someone would spend the money and let a boat like this fall apart.
