TIBS - Toronto International Boat Show - starts this weekend
Jan 14-22 http://www.torontoboatshow.com/
Lots of boats and gear to satisfy the itch...
They will also have their indoor lake again this year, where they have a wakeboard show, boat handling seminars and demos, canoeing/kayaking/paddle boats for 'rent' as well as seminars, etc...
They have a web cam set up on the lake - still under construction right now.

Umm....no (aside from the indoor lake and kiddie pools). January in Toronto is normally ice and snow and friggin cold (with wind chill it is supposed to feel like 12F-18F for the first few days of the show). Most marinas are normally icing up by around now but for this year we are still open water.foofer b wrote:I am guessing this is not an "in water" show!
This show takes place in the Direct Energy Center, which is the current name of the expanded Colliseum bulding at the CNE (Canadian National Exhibition) grounds in Toronto. The building is over 1million square feet, and they have everything from skiffs to runabouts to boats up to about 55-60' trucked in for the show.
Then there are all the manufacturers / distributors / retailers of parts and supplies in the back rooms. Show is probably 70-80% power, the rest sail.

No space outside of the pool edge to speak of and the entrances to that building are small... how many men to lift the docks which are not rigid till they are floating etc:captainmaniac wrote:Looks like they are putting a lot of the docks together first, then filling with water later... I would have thought they would do it the other way around and just float the docks into place.
Lots of reasons why this is the only way.

Hey Torcan, I will be working booth G431 for the entire show. I am the General Manager of Bay Moorings Resort Marina in Penetangquishene, part of Parkbridge Marina's Canada. We will be announcing the aquisition of Wye Haritage Marina, in Midland, at the show. Our other Marinas include Beacon Bay, Penetanguishene, Bay Port, Midland, Bridge Port, previously Hot Knots, in Orillia, and Gorski's in Port Perry. Anyone attending the show, drop by and say hi. If you come by towards the last day, I will be the guy dragging his ass
