1963 Sea Breeze 31
Continued from my new member thread. Here is a video of last weekend cruising the delta.
http://youtu.be/3h80ypWDqxM
In the first video I posted last week, my buddy Larry and I found the boat squirrely above 15 mph but I believe that to be sensitivity to weight shifting. By myself, I got the boat to 30 without problems. This video was to show him the handling.
Question for the older boat owners, my fixed windshield glass has lost the seal at the corners. It is set with a rubber gasket that has shrunk leaving 1" gaps. Has anyone had them reset and what kind of window channel did you use?

If you look closely, you can see the $$ signs coming out the back in the wake.
Thanks for the video, can't wait for Launch and getting out on the water again. Am getting cabin fever up here in Toronto.

I still have trouble believing the 28 knots at 2700 RPM. I hear you... but it just doesn't seem right unless you are running big diesels with monster props. If you are really only at 2700, I wanna know what kinda anti-gravity goo you are using for bottom paint!!!!
Not clear on where you are experiencing the windshield issues. I am not understanding where you have the 1" gaps. My father had a '69 for about 25 years, so if you could describe a bit more clearly I may be able to comment.

I'm bringing an optical tach this weekend. Speeds were MPH not knots, so not AS ridiculous.
The windshield is set into the wood frames with a rubber gasket not unlike a car windshield. But instead of one continuous gasket, it is 4 strips and over time they have shrunk and opened up at the corners. I'm visiting a glass shop this afternoon and have a picture to show them. I may just have to bed it in silicone though.

I turn about 3200rpm at 18-20 knots with twin 330hp 350's running through Hurth direct drives.........You got me thinking I need diff props or trans.............what are others getting for speed vs RPM? Am I in the ball park?............John

another factor to consider, I'm currently very lightly loaded. No fresh water in the tank, 40 gallons of fuel on board. Have not "moved in" so it is quite light. I'll verify with a second GPS and optical tach.
To those interested in the steering design, my boat has the gearbox right behind the wheel, no chain. A rotating shaft as the output drops to the bilge and moves a pittman arm to a steel rod that goes to the starboard rudder arm. The gear box has a small amount of play. Is anybody familiar with this setup and can the gears be shimmed on this model?
