i know that there was another thread devoted to the amount of screws used on the trojan interiors, but i wanted to send a special shout out thank you to member READY123 for his clarification as to just what type of screws were used. so, with the info handed to me, yesterday i set out to find a frearson bit for my tool kit on the boat. i found a type 2 and a type 3 at west marine and headed to the boat yesterday afternoon to do some duct work cleaning on the airconditioning system. (phil 'helped' by napping on the salon sofa).
i needed to access the system under the salon steps and i could never really get enough bite on the 4 screws holding the steps in place. i put my type 2 (the smaller one) on my screw driver and the feel was an instant bite on the screw head. no stripping, no nothing, just a solid feel. thank you ready for pointing that out to me (and others that did not know about the difference between the standard phillips head and frearson head) and giving me the info needed to make this job easier. for those of you that have trouble getting to your intakes for the air conditioning unit, i used a small pointed dryer lint trap brush, and, as i was cleaning the intake grate, i kept the shop vac going. (do this or you will be coughing up dust/lint/schmutz for hours!!) it cleaned every last inch of grate and screen so now that unit should operate better.
again, thanks ready123 for adding yet another toy to my tool box.

You're welcome.... I stripped many before my buddy wised me up.
Glad to be a Canadian helping the US economy by getting you out shopping.
