i have 2 of these. they have this sensor with 2 wires going to it on the side. what is this for? and if i wanted to replace it where could i find one? thanks

Thats you neutral safety switch . It keeps you from starting in gear .

that would be your neutral safety switch, check continuity through both terminals in and out of gear.

Yup, neutral safety switch. If you know how to use an ohm meter, you should have continuity with the lever in the neutral position only. Continuity in any other position or no continuity in nuetral means a replacement. If you don't get a satisfactory reading, take it out and inspect, then bench test for continuity.

To remove it do you remove the plate or just back off the big nut that has the 2 termanels on it

lol this thing looked pretty bad untill i cleaned it. yes i will check that continuity on that switch.

had to bring this back real quick. engines are all in. im going to buy tranny fluid and engine oil. how much fluid does one of these trannys hold?

i just found out. they hold 2 quarts.

That can vary depending on the angle . I would put in a qt check and add some and recheck until you get it in range .

.....then run, shut down and check again. This will fill your lines and cooler.
