New 11 Meter guy here

Post by Landlocked »

Hi guys, I don't know why it took 20 years but I stumbled across this forum recently. (And, Bob, I've put a check in the mail) There is some fascinating information in here.
We've had our 1985 11 Meter Sedan on an Oklahoma lake since 1988. No problems to address at the moment, but I was struck (and scared) by the man who had to totally replace the stringers on his newer 10 or 10.8 Meter.
As near as I can tell, my stringers are solid fiberglass. I wonder why the difference? Seems like Trojan would have stuck with the glass ones unless there's a problem with them.

Hello Landlocked and very welcome here in this Trojan-Forum :D

You are running your Lady since '88 and never met this forum ?!?

Looks like your boat is still free of any problems - GREAT.

Do you have some pictures to share

I do all my own work (except bottom jobs) but I've always just muddled through in the past. Didn't occur to me that there might be more of us out in the world.

The boat has the original 454's and a newer Westerbeke 12.5 KW genset. About 1500 hours on the 454's. Roughly 2500 on the Westerbeke

After i study the Photobucket stuff, I'll attach some pictures but will probably wait until next week so I can take some of just the boat over the next few days.

10 meter and 10.8 Trojan international series don't have wood in the stringers. Not sure what would have needed to be replaced. I've seen F series boats and the mid cabin series that had wooden stringer structures.

It's safe to say ....

if you have a vacuum liner engine room configuration

you probably have no wood in your stringers
