hi kevin, tri cabin aaron here. okay, if you have removed the aft bulkheads you should be able to 'crane' the engines out. trojan designed those bulkheads to do exactly that if necessary. another option, and this is from my mechanic, is to removed the risers and manifolds and break the engine down into its smallest components and lift the engine out the aft door that way. i would suggest, if you can, remove the v-drives too before doing that. when my mechanic john does a repower on an under the salon version of the tri, he almost never uses the engine removal hatch that is molded in above the headliner. he prefers to do the break down and reassembly method and has done so with great success.
just a suggestion. i cannot wait to be well enough to venture up there and help you with some of this stuff.

Kevin, I see you have closed cooling so the breakdown will produce a lot of stuff. Any idea how the antifreeze got into the engine? Not sure of your plans, but be sure to check all your cooling components including the heat exchangers, manifolds, etc. I think Aaron is referring to your velvet drives when he said v-drives. Your Walter V drives are on their own once unbolted. Hope your restoration goes well.
