Trojan Boat Forum

Hello,

I am an electrical engineer, master electrician, and electro/mechanical tech. A fellow has asked me to redo the wiring in his twin engine Trojan boat. I have almost no familiarity with marine wiring, but hoped that you all could help me out. I am looking for electrical and or mechanical schematics and any other technical documents which might be useful. The hull number of his boat is 501 1008. I am not sure of the model, but was hopeful that is might be decernable from the hull number.
Engine 1# is 440 4596
Engine 2# is 440 0735

Any help or referrals would be greatly appreciated.

Really need the year and model #. The last 2 digits of the hull # are typically the year, but 08 can't be right....

Give us the year and the model of the boat.

1972 Sea Voyager

Can't help with specifics on a 72 Sea Voyager, but will reinforce the obvious:

• > tinned copper wiring (Ancor is the best),
  > go a gage larger (14!) minimum while you're at it,
  > heatshrink adhesive lined crimp ring terminals,
  > 2 port, 2 starboard and 1 large house battery, with marine selector switches (Guest or Blue Sea) to intercionnect between them ( for startign in an eergency)
  > 2 rear and 2 forward bildge pumps, with automatic floats and manual switches wired to seperate batteries (1 each front and rear to one each of the stbd and port batteries)
  > chargers!
  > throw away those old Perko lights and put in LEDs while you're at it
  > solar panel(s) to feed 1 or more batteries "just in case"
  > the list goes on ...
