Guys,
I've began stripping the old anti-fouling paint from the the bottom of my F26.
It looks like there are 3-4 coats under there!
Sanding is proving to be quite a chore plus it's messy and I'm concerned about the helath affects of the dust. Is paint remover a better option? Is there concern about paint remover and fiberglass? Any suggestions?

Hi Agitator,
I studied the different ways of removing the bottom paint and at my age(66) I decided the best way was to have the boat yard sand blast the bottom. From what I've read there is no easy way to do it yourself. If you have the boat at home you can probably have a freelancer do it for cheaper than my yard is getting.

Is it possible to sandblast one without damaging the gelcoat?
What did your yard charge?

Yes. The gel coat is not harmed. In my case I need to put on 4 coats of barrier coat, a tracer coat and 2 coats of ablative after they sand blast. They are charging 37.50 a foot.
