Don't be nervous, just get lots of insurance!! Sorry just joking. You have posted a couple of pictures over the last little while showing snow. How do you prepare for winter, do you need to winterizes all the internals, moters, plumbing, water tanks etc. Or our you far enough south not to worry.
Insurance - well it is covered but that is never a pleasant process so I hope to avoid that all together! Boat is fully winterized. This is new to me too. It is sitting about 300+ miles south of me. If it were here in Iowa it would be on the hard. Snow is melting and very, very good people at the marina watching things.
Our 11 Meter lives in Oklahoma, probably 200 miles south of St Louis. I have to remove all fresh water from water lines, engines, AC etc. I've had a couple of water line (icemaker) fittings crack in the past, but nothing serious.
Our lake did experience catastrophic dock collapses a couple of years ago. The snow got heavy enough on roofs to collapse many docks and sink the boats underneath. It was heartbreaking. Fortunately my dock was exposed to enough wind it kept the roof fairly clean and we escaped unharmed.
