F32 Taff Rail Hardware

Post by daylategeorge »

Does anyone know of anyone who does chrome plating? I'm looking to have the hardware on my taff rail redone if possible. Haven't been able to find matching replacements anywhere.
Thanks Guys

Have you tried Beacon? I've also seen some hardware on eBay periodically but you need to keep checking in often and be ready to jump on it. If you go the re-chroming route, pick a reputable place that does a lot of marine work, restoration, bikes, show cars, etc. They are a bit more expensive but they will prep the pieces properly so you don't end up with dimples from old pitting. Word of mouth is always good so antique boat shows, vintage car meets, etc. are good places to get that sort of local info, ie; the local Home Depot parking lot is the meeting place for vintage car guys once a week in the summer in my area.

I did check Beacon but theirs are different than mine and not sure they would work. Did find a couple places online I need to check out for re chroming. Little leary without references. Have to see if I can find some. I'll keep my eye out for any classic car or boat gatherings in my area. Good idea! Never thought of it.
Thanks

Google acbs new jersey and see if any of the hits show web sites for chapters near you with advertising for local chrome shops, and maybe call up a local ACBS chapter and ask which chrome shops they would recommend. ACBS = Antique and Classic Boat Society.
