H Channel Installation on F -36

Post by fdean396 »

Is H-channel installed on the vertical portion of the window frame or attached on the window? What type of adhesive should be used to affix the H channel?

Thanks!

I meant window track in the window frame for installation of the H channel. H Channel is currently installed in the bottom and top tracks of each window but there is no H channel on the vertical end of each window frame where the sliding section of the windows close to. Does this make sense?

I've only seen it on the top and bottom of glass. At least mine and a few others are that way. No issues if you don't slam the glass shut...

H Channel on the top, bottom and trailing edge. My F32 has chrome strips on leading edge for closing plus fluff edge trailing for sealing. I am in the middle of removing leading and trailing edge strips. This will create an all black side view without the vertical interference of chrome or white stripes.
Season is short, we make the best of it.

My F32 is half and half... starboard side has the H channel on the vertical edge of the glass. Port doesn't. Don't think that's factory though... I intend to add H channel to the port side. My order arrived from Beacon a few weeks ago but just haven't had the time to deal with it yet.

I appreciate all the replies. Spoke to Bob at Beacon Marine and he said the H channel should also be installed on the vertical edge windrow track and to use silicon to attach it to the window channel edge. Time to get it done.
