F-26 Wiper Motor

Post by gitchisum »

Hoping someone can help me with standard replacement advice for wiper motor replacement.

It appears that I have a single speed AFI motor ( MRV I think) from Marineco. I left the boat without measuring shaft length and would like to buy a replacement motor before I go back out.

Anyone replaced the motor / or know what is the proper wiper motor to buy? ( Shaft length, sweep, model #)

Thanks!

i had the same problem on my f 26 and found a bad ground on the widshield frame, you might have the same problem also the wire size was kinda small you might have to run a new 14 ga wire up the right hand side of the frame and to the fuse panel

I am having similar problem .. port side worked starboard didn't .. now both don't work .. wondering if its ground . I can see one going , but two going ? odds are not good on that but suppose one never know. Is there anyway to check that on bench ?

sure, run a wire from the ground known good ground and alligator clip it onto the wiper motor ground point. anchor lights use the same ground wire

I traced my power to the positive lead and have 12.5 volts at the motor, and tried jumping the ground.

Motor still did not turn so I assumed bad motor. I think I will wait until I head back out and try to bench the motor straight off the battery before I invest in a new one.

Thanks for the advice
