Well, it hs been a while since I posted on this forum. Since I no longer have the Trojan F25, been busy with my new boat.
I did change her name from "No Problem" to "The Hailey-Savannah"
I have two little Grandaughters, a new one since my last visit here so I named the boat ater them
Hailey now 2 years old and Savannah 8 months:

It has been an interesting season this year, have not had much of an opportunity to take her out due to the nasty weather we have been having this season.
My last trip out Saturday around 5PM, I took her out on the lake with a friend, about 2 NM offshore, turned the engine off and began to fish on a calm glasslike finish to the lake, beautiful.
When I went to start her up, nothing!!!!
I had no click, no turnover, nothing.
So panic mode sets in, I looked at everything, could not get her to start, and I am 2NM offshore.
I called the clubhouse, and someone came out to tow me back in, 3 hours later I am tied up at the clubhouse seawall, too dark to tow her around to the slip, will wait till morning.
Next morning I get to the boat, have the hatch up, the voltmeter out, the batteries are fully charged, but no go.
Another club member is passing by, I go into the explanation of what has happened, he looks at me and says,"Is she in gear?"
Duh....... the rest is history,
That will never happen again, seems I shut her off in gear, so, like a car, no start

Had that happen one spring, but luckily at the dock, a day or two after launch. In our case, the handle looked like it was in neutral, but it wasn't. It needed a little jiggle. And you're right - it will never happen again!

Best one I had was when I got on board with the owners there, first thing I did was put her in neutral and fired it up....2 seconds. The guy turned to me and very calmly said, "you can't tell my wife that, you have to come up with something more complicated to tell her" No easy task because she came over to the helm seconds after he told me this. Can't remember what I said but a bunch of techno-speak got him and I out of it...so we think

Yup, been there, done that. Bought the boat, arrived Friday night to sleep over and get an early start next morning. Starboard engine spang to life, Port engine didn't even twitch an eye lid. Shut off Starboard engine still no life in Port. Great! New, to us, boat, first with two engines, minimal tool kit, strange marina 4 hours from home port, 7:00am Canada Day morning. Staring straight ahead I kept thinking "Think simple. The answer is not across the room it's at your feet." Glanced at the shifter and thought, I wonder.

I've done it too. Fortunately I figured it out before my mechanic arrived...called him and told him I found the problem.

nope. you are amongst friends on that one. when i had the 32, i had a similar moment. i called my dad and he said, ''okay son, let's figure this out from the simplest to the hardest. is your safety neutral engaged or not. move the handles until you feel a detent." problem solved. the detent was really 'soft' so i had to get a feel for it. our tri cabin was the same way for the starboard engine. there was a slight 'click' when the detent was engaged, but for some reason, the starboard needed a little forward bump to engage it. so no, you're not alone. ( sort of like my CO vs CO2 mistake from the onan thread...... )

just did the same on the phoenix, backing into dock after my second length run, engines hot and died, not crankum. However shift lever was around neutral just could not feel detent. jiggles and started.
