sticker removal
tackled the task of removing the 30yr old stickers from the boat. I asked a buddy whos in the business whats the easy way ? He explained a heat gun and plastic scraper would do it . So leaving his place with the knowledge this is going to be a cake walk was shortly lived. I started at the bow and flipped the switch , I heated it up and began to scrape the cracked /dried/nasty sticker after about an hour I looked to see my progress , I had covered a whopping 17" ! I called buddy back and said this isn't working out so well , he laughed and said come back down as he had a tool he would lend me. I went down and he showed me a tool that looked like a grinder called MBX it had a rubber wheel that looked like a gear . I went back and this thing chewed up that old sticker like it wasn't even there. So one hour wasted while buddy was at his shop laughing. The boat actually looks pretty nice without the stickers on it now.

I went through the same thing removing my original stripes. I don't know if 3M made the one you used but that's what I found. It's like a giant eraser and grabs the old vinyl. Once you get the hang of it you can make pretty quick work of it. Once they're totally dried out a heat gun is no longer an option.
