West System epoxy

Post by rshelly »

Anyone recommend one epoxy over another - It seems the West System and instructions on line are pretty user friendly - I am a rookie when it comes to fiberglass repairs - but am confident with wood working and repairs to wood stuff... I thought I would use this in the spring for sealing leaks and correcting some rot areas. I am not sure if there is something better? Also is the "Git Rot" product a better choice or are they for different applications?

I had a wood boat for many years - I found the epoxies from Smith to be the best all-around. More expensive, but well worth it - they are not proportion critical, and all call for 50/50 mix.
