Question about mid 80's 10m model 345
I see there is a 10 m Harry Schoel designed model 345 convertible for sale and it says the boat has fibreglass stringers----- I am curious ,how far did they go with this? ---- does anyone know if all the inboard and outboard longitudinal and transverse stringers are solid glass or a hollow carcass of some kind---what would you look for?----thanks Mike

Aside from layout, sedan, express, aft cabin, etc. here are basically two versions of the 10 meter.
The first series and the second series.
The first series - the ORIGINAL series features four fwd/aft hollow stringers built into the vacuformed hull liner.
Everything is built in including the waste and fresh water tanks.
the only wood below the deck is the rear engine room bulkhead.
MANY but not ALL of the later models were based on the mid cabin version, lets call that the MID CABIN based hulls.
These feature conventional wood stringers and conventional build construction.
There is no vacuformed liner and the waste and fresh water tanks are conventional.
There are numerous other differences in engine placement, shaft length, prop size, deck height and other differences presenting both advantages and disadvantages to both designs.

Thanks for the reply----- the boat is an 86 sedan-----are the engines in the sedan below the salon or are there v drives available ----only seen pics and it is not obvious where the hatches are ,I like the idea of the hull liner and glass stringers---- seems like a good price so I have become interested,although I doubt we could sell ours at this time anyway----Mike
