Ignition Control Module

Post by Lawman »

Hey Guys, I'm thinking of replacing the ignition control module on the starboard motor,( Mopar 318's) nothing wrong with the existing one. Had to replace one on port motor last year and was thinking of preventive maintenance by replacing it and keeping the existing one as a spare. My question is, if I put a new one in will it change timing or anything??

Why not keep a new one as spare? Can't see the logic of an old one as spare, if it works keep using it if it doesn't trash it :!:

If it's specifically for a Mopar 318 marine app, it should be the same advance curve

Don't forget 4 or 5 pin connector. Recommend changing the ballast resister to.
