Silver Lining galley update

Hi All, I havent been all that active on this or the Silverton site this year, It has been busy at work and quite a bit of travel, I finally got around to starting the galley re-do on Silver Lining, if you followed some of my projects on LARK, and when I did the galley on her, this is pretty similar, to same some time, this is the save thread I will post on the Silverton site

Since we bought Silver Lining a year ago, we have done a series of updates to our 37C and have planned for the galley all along, however the lower base cabinets have had me in a holding pattern because of the incredible wasted space Silverton designed into this boat. There are no drawers and the counter top that runs width wise with the boat and separates the galley from the salon is built into the engine compartment. this causes several issues, mostly the fact I could not build in a convection oven into this area without major construction to prevent potential explosion, and the stringers and ribs in this area would prevent me from building in drawers, the area just aft of the refrigerator currently holds a small cabinet and a toaster oven... that being said, I was tired of looking at the extremely dated orange counter tops, ugly and well used sink cook top and that goofy counter top storage "box" thing.
I plan to build a 3 drawer unit to go where the toaster oven is now, the thought is to build it at home to fit this space, and then install it as one piece on the boat and trim out to make appear as if it was always there. I didnt think I'd have to cut the top to install it either !
I have been putting the pieces together for this remodel for a while, I watched Craigslist for a few months and found someone who was tearing out an old kitchen and I bought the all of the Corian for 100.00 I found the Sewardglass cook top also on Ebay, it was new, in the original box for 100.00. I bought the Sink with the grate, cutting board and drain for 145.00 from MrDirect.com, the epoxy glue and mixertips came from Glue warehouse.
This past weekend I replaced the counter tops with Corian, I did all of the fabrication and installation myself and while I have some detail work to finish, so far it has turned out to what I think is an amazing transformation.
I will enclose the shelf just above the sink with tinted plexi sliders that will match the other sliding door cabinets this coming weekend and i have some teak trim to take care of, but for the most part, the hard work is complete.
I'll update this thread as I finish of the punch list.
