How To Get 5200 Out Of Fiberglass?
Some idiot put 5200 in the top deck hatch of my F44 many years ago. It is seated around the edge of the hatch and underneath. It is a 1/2 inch thick bead of 5200 filling a deep space. I need to remove the hatch to install my new fridge and couch. Does anyone have any experience removing 5200 from fiberglass? Any thoughts would be appreciated,

I had to remove my radar arch, which had 5200. If you can get to both sides, a windshield removing wire worked OK. A vibrating tool will help to. You should know now that you will probably sustain some fiberglass damage trying to get 5200 off. Its meant to be permanent. Good luck!

Wow. I just looked up the price of 12 oz. bottle of Debond;
West Marine - $37.99
Hamilton Marine - $17.99
Some of these Marine stores are out of their minds with their prices...

Tell them it's for your trailer "half price"
Season is short, we make the best of it.

Thank you everyone for the advice. I just ordered some Debond from Hamilton Marine. I was also told to attempt to heat it and will try this as well. I am keeping my fingers crossed on this one, it is going to be ugly.

You could try an oscillating tool like Harbor Freight sells and use the flat scraper attachment and sharpen it, I used one of these to remove the hatches on the Silverton on to re-bed the other to replace, I had the hatch out in about 5 minutes , in another 30 minutes I had the deck clean and the hatched back in.
Now, my hatches weren't bedded with 5200, but if you read the 3M removal instructions for 5200, it says "mechanical"
harbor freight has the tool on sale for 17.99 on sale right now too!
