10 meter deadrise?

Post by yorklyn »

does anyone know what the deadrise would be on a 10 meter mid cabin? I'm getting ready to buy a transducer and believe I need the zero-12 degree angled one but I wanted to verify. I plan on mounting it just forward the shaft log towards the outside stringer if that makes a difference.
Thanks

Powerboat Guide says it has 9 degrees deadrise aft.

Todd,

If you want a shorter cable run and a litte less clutter in the engine room, I installed my forward so it's under the mid cabin berth on the Stb side. I moved mine a few years ago because I thought I had an issue with shaft bubbles interfering with the tranducer readings. It didn't solve my problem but I like having it out of the way now and it works great (a new Plotter solved my real issue).

It's farther forward than you might see spec'd but there's no way our boat will have that much hull out of the water down that low. Anyway, just a thought and not really your question.

Thanks comodave, I couldn't find that info printed anywhere.
Bob, have you had any issues with getting readings on plane withyours mounted there?
I'm in the process of figuring out which CHIRP capable transducer to go with. Some are flush mount but a lot come with a fairing block that protrudes down a few inches. Its amazing how much some of these transducers cost!

No, readings are dead on at all speeds and I've had a few seasons to verify. It's about an 1' forward of the engine room bulkhead.

I have mine mounted in the same location as Bob and have one on each side. I'm upgrading one this weekend and need to drill a larger hole in the same spot. I cut a 7/8" diameter x 2" long piece of wood and put that on to my 2" hole saw which acted as a guide going through the existing hole and worked perfect. I read about the same 9 degree dead rise, but found mine to actually be 10 degrees. I think the 12 degree unit you are looking at will work just fine.

I checked the deadrise today, (apparently there is an App for that!) I got 13 degrees in the area under the aft cabin. the "0" degree transducer goes from 0 to 12 so I guess the 12 degree would be correct.
Thanks Guys!
