10 Meter Door Latch

Does anyone know how to take the Cockpit Door Latch off the door of a 10 Meter International.

I would take out the screws and use a heat gun on low to break the bond to the door. Careful not to overheat the plexiglass. can you still get to your boat?

I can get to my boat by boat, have been using Richards John Boat.
I have taken all the screws out, and the plastic is loose from the door, but still cannot get the latch off the door, I that you may need to remove the lock cylinder.
