Starting problems

I have a 1975 Trojan w/twin Chrysler 318's, after sitting for about 1 week the starboard engine will not turn over, I can hear an electrical "click", and after several repeated switches in an attempt to start it will eventually fire, it will then continue to start/run without difficulty until I leave it sit again until the following weekend, thoughts?

Hey, I have the same problem with an old Cruisers Inc. I just rebuilt with a 302 Ford.
I assume it's a bad connection at the battery, as it's the only connection that gets warm when I try to start.
It does eventually always start but a little unnerving when it happens.
Of course it may be a couple other things, lose connections or a tired/sticky bendix

I would start by checking all connections are clean and tight. And battery voltage before you try to start them.

You want to be really careful about which tips you use from automotive sites like shorting the contacts on a solenoid and creating a spark in a bilge that may have fuel vapours present. There are other ways to test the solenoid without doing that, like using a meter....much safer in a marine application.
