GAUGE SENDER

Post by AwayOnBusine$$ »

Have twin 318's with dual stations. Understand that the senders for the gauges are different for this setup. Some of my upper station gauges are not working. Want to know if I have the proper senders before I start trying to trace down other issues.

Ken , are all your gauges the same make or do you have a mix and match thing going on??....I had much the same issue and ended up buying 4 new temp and 4 new oil pressure with the matching dual station senders ....end of problem.....Mike

Thanks Mike! All gauges are original to the boat! I believe. Same dial, colour and appearance. Flybridge had been removed for transportation and is probably an issue, but as well the 318's were rebuilt and may not have been set to the dual station settings.Lots of work ahead, just trying to start at the senders to eliminate the obvious!

Those senders on the engines have id numbers ,with which you can find out what they are to see if they match the original gauges..make sure there is no thread tape or sealant on the sender threads where they screw into the engines as they need a good ground...also there is a wiring distribution panel in the starboard side panel by the lower helm that has all the wiring junctions which if not clean and tight will cause problems....Mike

If the senders were the issue you both upper and lower station would be doing the same thing
