Hello Trojan Lovers

I love my 1989 10 meter Sedan. would like to change the 280 HP 5.7 L gas to diesel any recommendations.

Also trying to find specific data so as to ship the boat from S Carolina to my new home in Key Largo Fl. Where can I get accurate information. As you all know the Trojan site is really unhelpful.

Need to know actual beam.
I know the aluminum helm top will have to come off.
what is height to bottom of hull from the top of fiberglass @ the small windshield. I am hoping to be under 11 feet with top off.
Actual length have a swim platform and teak anchor stay ?

Perhaps RWS will respond , he repowered his 10 meter But its not a sedan so I am not sure what diesel engines will fit yours other then some Yanmars . On RWS , site there is story on a repower by Mack Boring . However the Numbers (by Mack Boring ) speed/fuel ) are very optimist are best IMO and I am being nice

I can't help you on the height of your sedan, however here's some info:

your boat came from the factory with Crusader 454 cubic inch, 7.4 liter big block engines, rated at 330 horsepower, running Rochester Quadrajet carburetors.

I am not aware of any 10 meter actually fitted with a small block

My express cruiser had plenty of space horizontally, however height was a concern as the diesel six cylinder engines I was considering were longer and taller than the V-8 crusaders.

My repower was started in 2005 and at that time we considered the Cummins, the Yanmar and the Volvo.

The Volvo was tossed as it had too many electric control modules which I opposed having in a salt water marine environment.

The Cummins and Yanmar were both mechanical diesels, however the Cummins was too tall, even with the down-angle transmission to fit in the engine room of the Express Cruiser.

This left the Yanmar six cylinder turbodiesel LP series at 315 horsepower
