I still have it free for the taking but I will be cutting it up into pieces shortly if no one takes it.

Really starting to take shape now....I put the front struts on, sewed the canvas top and installed it. I'm pretty pleased with the results for my first canvas project. I also like the fact that there are no visible seam lines from the cockpit.

I learned a new definition for a couple of words during the canvas work:

Monotonous - installing 200 grommets one at a time, one after another after another after another.

Aggravation - taking what seems to be a 32 mile long piece of rope and weaving it through the above 200 grommets one loop at a time without creating a huge rays nest of tangles.

It was really worth it and I saved a ton of money doing it myself, not to mention learning new things is always fun. Too bad I have to remove the canvas to install the radar mount! I will leave the canvas off for transportation to the marina and re-install it once it's in the H2O.

Not too many people own a NEW Trojan International Ten Meter.

Had you started with a Sea Ray, or similar production boat you would certainly not have anything near the result you are heading for.

I was handling the annual coat of cetol on the teak today and was thinking about you and how you will handle the brightwork as well as what I am really looking forward to and that is the cabin.

As an express cruiser (non-midcabin) owner I would be happy to share my own ideas as to what can and should be "improved" from a usability standpoint, as we have spent many a night out on the boat.

Thanks guys,

Today I packed my stuffing boxes and safety wired my prop shaft flanges and cleaned the engine bay. I also applied KiwiGrip to the cockpit. So now I'm really down to hooking up the baitwell and wiring up the electronics. So it should be getting wet in a couple weeks!

I cleaned the cabin but other than totally rebuilding the vacuflush system that's all I'm doing to the cabin for now. I can't afford to do anything else to the cabin right now. I'm way over budget and am so broke I can't even pay attention. I'd like to think I have a lot of equity in this thing but who knows?

Gents,

The day finally came for re-launch. Everything went great with no problems. I forgot how big this this looks going down the freeway! Put it into the water, no leaks. Started the motors, fired right up. I've taken it out a few times now, just short trips as I am still building my confidence in both the boat's seaworthiness and my ability to maneuver. I have a long way to go on the later, coming into the slip is still no fun at all yet, way too nervous. On one of my trips I did have a brand new starter fail which totally sucked, but I replaced that and everything is good. I'm now trying to do some follow up stuff like tune the carburetors and just double checking a lot of stuff. It's been a long hard journey during the last year but I'm very pleased with the results. I have received a ton of compliments in the marina, a lot of the people remember the boat and can't believe the transformation. I get a lot of "Damn that's a wide boat". This is going to be a lot of fun!

Congrats Mark. Looks like all that hard work has paid off! I love the picture from the overpass, pretty cool. You did an amazing job now spend some time enjoying it!
