Mounting Radar on Tri Cabin
Hi, I'm mounting a new Raymarine 4Kw on my Tri Cabin. I don't have a radar arch and I'm not sold on how some of them look on Tri Cabins. Does anyone have ideas on where else I could mount it. I'm thinking of either a mast or arch, any good pictures or ideas. Thanks

Re: Soft deck
Hi, I used Interlux Bright sides on my decks 6-7 years ago. I made my repairs and then painted the decks from the rub rail to the edge of the cabin. First 2 coats were reduced bright sides, 3rd coat was mixed with the non skid on the deck only not the toe rail. 4th coat was reduced bright sides to s...

Re: Repower 1980 Tri Cabin
Thanks for the replys, staying with the same gear ratio. Prowler your thoughts are the same as mine, try the old props and repitch as needed. I really hope they FEEL much stronger, but done expect much on the top end more for cruising speed. I already bought new Faria Chesapeake gauges to replace ev...

Re: Repower 1980 Tri Cabin
Yes Sir, things have changed over the last bunch of years. 5.7 carbureted Crusader is 300 hp and 5.7 Multi port fuel injection is 330 hp. The 7.4 454ci is no longer made new and the 8.1 496 ci is gone. You can still get them but it's reman only. I'm excited about the MPI 330 hp just not sure how muc...

Repower 1980 Tri Cabin
Hi again, purchased a pair of Crusader 5.7 MPI Captains Choice. I will be removing a great pair of 360 Chryslers, they run great but time to go newer. I'll take a bunch of pictures as the project moves along and post up. How much more efficient do you think they will be? 275 hp Chrysler to 330 Crusa...

Furniture options Tri Cabin
Hi I'm looking for options for furniture in my 1980 Tri Cabin.I've been looking for a small sectional sofa, but don't want to spend big money on custom. Does anyone have pictures of what they have. I'm also interested in the built in corner units some Tri Cabins have, how hard would it be to build. ...

Shell Rotella was the oil to use, it was one of the last oils to contain ZDDP or Zinc. The EPA mandated no more Zinc in oil even for Diesels, most of our older boat engines need Zinc for the cam. The least expensive way to get zinc in your oil is an addative, the other more expensive way is off road...

Teak rub rail upkeep
My rails are teak for certain, the biggest pain in the a$$ is removing the stainless trim. To do the job right to either clean or sand before putting on the sykkins(spelling) the trim must be removed. If any of you guys have a better more productive idea chime in.
