Removing V-Drive
Excuse me for hijacking this post, but I am getting ready to remove both my working V-Drives and want to know how to go about it without "compromising the stuffing box" and other pitfalls. Both my engines are seized and I'm not replacing them so I am removing both working V-drives and velv...

Calling all you Electrician- Types
Hey!. Need some input on my current electric project to keep everything safe and cozy. I live aboard during the Winter to commute to NYC and was using standard 120vac heaters to stay warm. Thank God this has been a mild winter so far and these heaters haven't had to put out much (reminds me of an ol...

Thanks for that input and the photos. Much Appreciated. I have to re-evaluate the whole project on an effort vs benefit basis. The only curent benefit I am getting from having the Onan in the boat right now is to ensure power for winter heat if the marina craps out. Other than that re-sale as you ha...

6.5 kw Onan removal?
Thanks for the story, Aaron. Makes me want to keep it right where it is Ha! Ha! Ha! Seriously though folks. If there's anyone out there in Trojan-land who can come up with the tools, muscle and padding to take this thing out of my boat, the price would be adjusted accordingly (i.e I'm thinking 1/2 t...

Removal of 6.5 kw Onan
Thanks for the input guys. I'm removing it cause my Tri-Cabin is just a floating apartment for me to work in midtown manhattan. The engines are locked up but the Onan is perfect but useless unless I get a power outage which we didnt get at the marina even during Irene. Since the genny weighs over 40...

Long story somewhat shortened. I bought the Concorde before I found the Trojan Tricabin. My plans changed after that. The tri-cabin is serving as a floating apartment directly across from NYC and is working out great. I am saving net about $500 per month by living on the Trojan compared to a cheap a...

OK, so after talking with several boat transport companies, I have decided to bite the bullet and take the flybridge off the boat. With the bridge off, it eliminates all the oversize load permits, pole cars, etc that would otherwise be required. I got a reputable company to move me to NY for $710.00...
