I'm doing the same thing to my exchangers and I'm sending mine out to the local radiator shop to put in his clean tank and then reseal and have them pressure tested before I reinstall.. I'm using merc peanut butter sealant( PERFECT SEAL) on my end plates

Word of caution using radiator shops most of them only clean the fresh water side . the stuff they use won't do squat for the salt water side . you need to use something like rydlyme on the salt water side
