Odor Safe Hose

Post by Reel Nauti »

Working on adding a dockside pumpout on my boat as it did not come with one from the previous owner. Anyone here able to recomend a good solid hose? Looking at the odor safe at $8 per foot and not really keen on the price.
Does it really matter if I use a a odor safe hose?

I just got done putting in a whole head system in my tricabin. I put 2 vacuflush systems in and believe me, it wasn't cheap!!!!

I had the same problem with the oderless hose that it was so dang expensive. Most of the straight-aways in the bilge I did PVC.

Its important to know when doing the PVC is to use sweeping 90's instead of regular 90's. PVC Is cheaper and its heavy duty.

Yes the price of that hose is a killer but its worth the price . PVC pipe works well if you can use it. Support it well and you'll be ok but I wouldn't use all pvc use hose at the points that hook up to the boat to cut down on vibrations.

I used trident odor safe hose. The higher end grade. It's been fine. Wasn't as expensive.

This is how I plumbed mine with PVC, I used white sanitation hose at the deck connection and at the tank and head.

Thanks for all the replies guys, thought about the PVC but it would take alot of angles to get it to where I need to go without taking a ton of cabinetry and the head out. I found a 15' peice at my local marine store of hose for $5 a foot, a little more manageable.

I know what you about try to get the PVC in. I replaced over 50' of hose last yr and not more than 2' straight run any where.
