Yorklyn, is the green wire for your bonding system? What gauge is the green bonding wire?

The idea is to keep resistance down to a minimum. Considering the lengths typically associated with the average bonding system, 6 AWG is what's usually recommended these days. And the system is only as good as your connections.

I went with 8ga because that's what was listed on my boats wiring diagram. most of the runs are pretty short. instead of one continuous loop a central bonding bar (bus bar) was used. I agree about the end connectors. I made sure I bought connectors with "closed" ends so the wire is not exposed. I am also using adhesive lined shrink wrap to waterproof the connections. I plan on leaving little slack in each wire to allow me to cut and replace connectors as needed down the road. nothing wrong with going 6ga either. I would not go any smaller than 8.

Use a good quality battery terminal spray and zap all your connections once they're fastened. Some product is thicker than others. I find the good quality thick product doesn't wash away as easy in bilge areas that are always wet. Painting on liquid electrical tape over the connections/fasteners may be just as good but haven't tried that yet for this particular application.

Did you order the green 8Ga battery cable? How much did you buy?

I am just starting to re-wire my boat.

Between the battery cables running to the DC panels and a 30ft run to my windlass, I needed about 220ft total (110ft pos, 110ft neg)

I was going to order from genuine deals but then I opted for this and saved about $1000
