10M Electric cabin door questions

Hello all,
I bought some roller track wheels from Beacon and am trying to get my electric doors to work. They came with no instructions but I've seen older posts on the forum talk about instructions on the Beacon site. I can't find them anywhere. If anyone has a link to the instructions, please share.

I'm looking for details on the roller wheel mounting (what bolts, what spacers, etc). I think the PO swapped the original wheels out and I don't have anything to compare the new installation to. I think there must be some spacers in there somewhere because if I mount the roller wheels onto the bracket with no spacers the bracket scrapes the aluminum roller track.\

The wheel simply "pushes" on to the knurled end of the shaft. Once you actually "pull" the old wheel off which is probably dried out and hard, push on the new one.


Also, can the motors be lubed up? They appear to be sealed very well. I'd like to clean and lube them if possible. Mine seems to turn faster one way, not sure if that is right.


If it's turning faster one way its probably due to the angle of the wheel on the door and or any dirt/dried wheel lubricant/debris or probably a combination on the top and bottom wheels and tracks.


Oh, one last question! It looks like you have to hold down the OPEN button for the door to fully open (and the opposite). I was expecting to press the OPEN button and have the door fully open, or press CLOSE and have the door fully close without holding the button down. How do yours work?


Correct, HOLD the button down for operation.

There are micro switches which will cut the motor off once the door is fully open or closed to protect the motor.

Thanks. The wheels I were referring to are the track wheels for the upper and lower track. I mounted the rubber friction wheel fine, but unsure which hardware to use to mount the roller track wheels. Mounting them with no spacer makes the wheel holder brackets scrape on the track.

seems like I fooled with this a bit but I do not recall exactly how I ended up.

I do know that I changed out all the wheels twice.

ok

just made a trip to the garage parts bin.

These have a ROUND shank, not a square one that rubs.

Try Prime-Line part No. M-6206

Comes with the correct screws, too.

Google the brand name and part number for the correct detail - remember the ROUND shank, not the hex.

At least that's how I remember it.

I just measured my bottom and top roller tracks in the head and they are not paralell. Also, as mounted now the rubber friction wheel is really pressing down on the door. How tight of a grip (how much pressure) is required for the friction wheel to work? I guess it should be minimal so the motor isn't overworked. It is so tight now that you can't manually open the door and the motor works and gets hot when opening and closing. Its very slow too!

It doesn't look like my tracks were remounted by the PO, but not sure.
