Alternative to cork pan gasket.

Post by Paul - SW Ontario »

Has anyone found a better gasket set for chrysler small block aluminum oil pans?

Valve cover gaskets are available in rubber with steel inners.

For pans maybe?

I can't say I've seen anything like that for oil pans.
I may be wrong, the reason valve cover gaskets are rubber is so they don't have to be replaced every time a cover comes off, I don't think you'll find them for oil pans

Paul check out summit racing ,there are a lot of choices for these engines...I still like the cork though, the rubber can be a bit of a problem if the pan is not torqued just right, imo..Mr gasket had the ultra seal or some name like that, that we always used, great for valve covers on and off many times and no leaks......Mike
