Is there a chance that you have debris moving around in the bottom of the fuel tank that can intermittently obstruct the end of the pick up tube?

Ok, glad that you found the problem. Now for the root cause; What was it clogged with? Does the tank need to be flushed?

I have these on my boat and they are made of teak. They are held in place with screws and are sealed to the deck with Life-Seal. Without these the water that runs down the gunnels would end up in the cockpit. If you don't like the teak, a piece of starboard would probably do the job nicely.

Might want to check the anti-syphon valve at the suction tube on top of the tank. Since it's before the filter, debris tends to get caught up in it and can reduce fuel flow. The material that I used is from "QL Marine Accessories" which is a division of Volvo Penta. These sound absorbent panels are available in several different thicknesses.
